Wat Phra Singh Worawihan is a magnificent temple located in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The temple is famous for enshrining the sacred Buddha image of Phra Singh (Phra Phuttha Sihing), which is considered as one of the most important Buddha images in Chiang Mai and Lanna. The temple is known for its beautiful Lanna architecture and is considered as the center of the minds of Chiang Mai people who have faith and travel to pay respect and worship regularly. Phra Singh temple is also the site of many festivals and events, including the Songkran festival and New Year's Eve festival, where the Buddha Sihing is paraded around the city to give faith to the people.
In addition to the main hall, the temple also features Hor Trai, a half-timbered building decorated with stucco gods in the form of Thep Phanom Yuen. The interior is adorned with Himmapan creatures, such as winged mermaids, winged lions, kirins, and guard patterns similar to those of the Meng dynasty of China. The Wihan Lai Kham is another highlight of the temple, featuring a beautiful and intricate stucco pattern that showcases the advanced craftsmanship of the craftsmen of the time. The interior of the Wihan Lai Kham is enshrined with the Phra Phuttha Sihing Buddha image and features gold patterns on red backgrounds in various patterns.
